Baxall Construction

Known as leaders in the Kent region for their digital transformation programme, Baxall Construction began the Digital Construction – BIM: the next generation training programme with the NFB (National Federation of Builders) in April 2018: A bespoke training programme developed by Project Five Consulting Limited (P5) on behalf of the NFB which is part funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

AIMIS was appointed on behalf of P5 to deliver the technical aspect of this programme which due to COVID-19 has been adapted to an online format.

Due to the delays in delivering the programme, Baxall engaged with AIMIS directly to receive digital construction training for their project teams and supply chains to support their live projects.

AIMIS provided tailored training and support to suit individual project needs but also focused on consistent topics including;

  • BIM Fundamentals / Refresher
  • Modelling Best Practice, Clash detection and LOD – for design teams and design managers; Baxall and Consultants
  • 4D and cost planning, H&S, Model use on site – for project teams; Baxall and supply chain
  • Lean and BIM – for project teams; Baxall and supply chain

Upskilling our teams and our supply chain as part of our BIM journey was challenging due to COVID. However, working with AIMIS, with the use of online training and support, we have been able to continue developing our capability and improving our working efficiency. We are all about doing it differently but with reduced waste in the design process, which has transferred into our operational results. BIM is now a standard practice for Baxall and we thank AIMIS for taking us on that journey.
