AIMIS have been working with Bugler Developments on a series of projects for their varying-scale housing developments.
Our relationship with Bugler Developments started with a small development of five old garage sites, turned affordable housing developments for Dacorum Borough Council. AIMIS were approached by Bugler due to the client requirements for asset information to be delivered using the COBie data structure and issued in XLSX format. There wasn’t however any need for 3D models.
Does this make it a BIM project? We’ll leave that up to you, but in our view it’s simply information management.
Those of you that have experience with COBie deliverables will understand this is not a task easily or reliably achieved by human input into Excel, so we implemented a smart digital O&M platform to collect asset information which allows us to validate and export the COBie data in line with the requirements.
Having structured asset data facilitates information transfer between handover and facility management whilst providing traceability from design to operations, and has proven to be a valuable asset for Dacorum Borough Council.
The success of the £8.5m Garage Sites scheme has resulted in AIMIS and Bugler Developments forging an ongoing working relationship to deliver a series of five larger residential projects for Dacorum Borough Council and Ealing Council, ranging from £9m to £24m with plenty more in the pipeline.
